Margaret Atwood - Oryx and Crake

Oryx and Crake - Margaret Atwood

I guess I could give this book 5 stars, because it stands out amidst the crap I have been reading recently but this is Margaret Atwood. I know for a fact she is capable of flawless so I am giving this one 4 stars.

This, of course, means it's a great book and you should all read it. It has all the necessary ingredients for the utopia turned dystopia theme. It has some unnecessary and not well thought out bits - whole Oryx storyline.
If it was a man who wrote this book I would scream 'sexist'. But Maggie of course gets away with it.

The ending was a bit anticlimactic too, I think. But on the other hand, this is 'road literature' - it is not supposed to end with fireworks. I hear there is a sequel anyway.

UPDATE: Ha ha ha. I have just realised I originally titled this post: Oryx and Cake.
